Be patriotic for the 4th of July and donate items that are red, white, or blue. Let’s donate red items like jam (strawberry), jello (cherry, strawberry, raspberry), ketchup, canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce; white items like mayonnaise, salad dressing, vanilla pudding, oatmeal, instant potatoes; blue items like blueberry muffin mix. Other white items would include toilet paper, kleenex, paper towels, diapers. What else can you think of?
Please feel free to donate some canned meat products (Spam, beef stew, tuna, chili, hash), canned pasta with meat, cans of soup with chicken or beef, cans of fruit, and fruit juice.
Want to donate something not on the list? Please bring whatever items you can. Remember you can never give too much. Make sure to check the expiration dates – items must not be past the expiration date. All items collected through Sunday, July 4 will be taken to Love, Inc. food pantry one day during that week.
Love, Inc. Food Pantry averages over 400 different households per month. These families come from Burlington, Waterford, Union Grove, Rochester, Wind Lake, Lyons, and Wheatland. Families are required to provide a photo ID, proof of address, proof of income and verification of all household members. State income guidelines are followed to determine income limits. Names are checked to verify they are only coming to Love, Inc. Food Pantry. Families receive about 5 days worth of food and are able to come once every 30 days.
