Seven members from Peace Lutheran joined over 600 Christians from around the midwest in a retreat this weekend in the Wisconsin Dells. The theme was do.love.walk based on Micah 6:8 – He has shown you what is good, and what does the Lord require of you but to DO justly, to LOVE mercy, and to WALK humbly with your God.

We enjoyed concerts by 100 White Flags and Captive Free, and were inspired by conversations each morning and evening with our featured speakers Danielle Tietjen and Henry Graf.

The youth participated in a variety of workshops on Saturday, including how they can serve in our community, becoming a soldier for Christ, and praising the Lord through hip-hop!

We enjoyed some group bonding time through meal times together and games, and of course the waterparks! Participants were Taylor H, Christine R, Marc A, Jason B, Eric L, Emily S, and Amelie W, accompanied by Rhonda Anderson, Toni Rowntree, Karen Smith and Rachel Bennett.

A Saturday of service

Saturday December 5th was a busy day at Peace Lutheran as we decorated the church for the Christmas season, had a group of young people and adults go carrolling before a large crowd of seniors at Pine Brooke Pointe, and served meals to 12 women and children at the Transitional Living Center.

Sunday School Builds Ginger Bread Houses

Toni Rowntree led the Sunday School in building ginger bread houses this Sunday. The Bible lesson: As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by human beings but chosen by God and precious to him— (5) you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house [a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Steve Fladwood sent us these pictures of Chennai India where he is currently working. This is monsoon season in Chennai and there are no storm sewers in the city so when it rains the city just floods.

The 3-4-5 Club Serves Meals at Love Inc and TLC

On Thursday October 23rd the 3-4-5 club served the meal at the Love Inc Meal Site. Thirty-two adults and children from the community and the Transitional Living Center (shelter for homeless women and children) were served an amazing meal of pot roast and fried chicken. God was glorified and a good time was had by all.

Linda Morgan, James Hatlen, and the Vojta family served food to 600+ bikers who attended the 2008 Toy Run fundraiser for the Funds for Families and Adopt-A-Family Christmas programs at Love, Inc on Sunday, September 7.
