Oden’s general thesis is that “Africa has played a decisive role in the formation of Christian culture from its infancy. Decisive intellectual achievements of Christianity were explored and understood first in Africa before they were recognized in Europe, and a millennium before modern North America.” I stand with a great many people in believing that God is using African Christians in a powerful way to bring spiritual revival to the western world. This book helps us see how the ministry of African Christians is a part of a story that is much older than most of us can imagine.
